From the editor: The book is about a girl in 1985 who is eleven and living in Saskatoon. It jumps between two eras: the one where the daughter first discovers her mother has cancer, which then follows the year that happened after, and a second timeline that begins the day her mother dies and moves forward from there, spanning to about the age of eighteen. She jumps back and forth, alternating with each chapter... Throughout all of this, she’s sending letters to Corey Hart, who never responds, and constantly repeating his lyrics in her head to keep going.
